Our Mission & History form the foundation of our inspiration and purpose. They guide us to understand that:

	Service in the areas of education, health care and social service programs transforms faith into action
	Advocacy becomes compelling as we come to understand the hardships of the poor.
	Community Living provides support and encouragement, new challenges and relationships.
	Spirituality deepens in community, is lived out in service and grows through personal and shared prayer/reflection.

The Vincentian Service Corps West is a faith-based volunteer program inspired by St. Vincent de Paul that challenges its members to:

Devote one year beginning in August to serve in impoverished areas of Los Angeles and San Francisco
Work with marginalized people in our society
Live simply with fellow volunteers
Integrate faith into living and serving
