Responsibilities

Assist the regular classroom teachers with individual help for all students in all basic subject areas; tutoring small groups with concentrations in Reading, Language Arts, and Math, grades 4-8

The Riley Center, located in inner city San Francisco, is a confidential program for women and children, victims of domestic violence. 

Responsibilities

Work directly with clients by assisting them in solving immediate problems as well as helping them in planning and searching out long term solutions

Qualifications

College degree; previous work with abused women and children a plus, good communication and interpersonal skills

Case Worker

St Vincent de Paul Multi-Service Center South

Description

The St Vincent de Paul Multi-Service Center South is one of the largest shelters in the Bay Area serving homeless and near homeless men and women with basic emergency needs, food, hygiene, shelter, counseling, referrals and assistance with transition to permanent housing

Responsibilities

Work directly with clients assisting them in solving immediate problems as well as helping them plan and search out long term solutions leading to employment and permanent housing; provide basic needs, and give individual tutoring and/or coaching in resume writing and job interview skills.

Qualifications

College degree; compassion for the homeless, interest in social work, good communication and interpersonal skills

Description

This center provides a holistic approach to recovery for low income and homeless men and women suffering from substance abuse.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with achieving sobriety through group sessions, stress management techniques, referrals to counseling, relapse-prevention workshops, 12-step program meetings, and health and nutrition education.

Program Associate

St Vincent de Paul-Oakland Community Center

The St Vincent de Paul Oakland Community Center is a non-profit services program in the inner city of Oakland dedicated to helping those in need by providing emergency shelter, basic hygiene services, case management and referrals.

Responsibilities

Work directly with clients assisting them in solving immediate problems as well as helping them to plan and search out long term solutions leading to employment.
