VSC volunteers can take on positions as Registered or Vocational Nurses, Physical Therapists, Case Workers, Counselors, Patient Advocates, Guest Services Specialists, Public Health Workers, Certified Medical Assistants, Emergency Medical Responders, Health Educators, Dieticians, Pastoral Care Counselors.
Positions in Education that are available are as Teachers, Tutors, Mentors, Teaching Assistants, Early Childhood Educators, Sports and Physical Education Coaches.
Multiples social service sites accept VSC volunteers as Case Workers, Job Skills Specialists, Administrative Coordinators, Health Educators, Bilingual Interpreters, Counselors, and Mentors.
Positions require maturity, willingness to help, a sense of humor, compassion, adaptability and openness to change. Volunteers can also work with service sites to create new positions that utilize interdisciplinary skills.
Of course, volunteers can also go beyond “the field” as
advocates for systemic change.
